We are looking to hire a Technical Packaging Specialist within the Professional Hygiene Business Unit, which includes operations in North America and Europe, selling primarily under the Tork brand. Essity is the world's leading B2B supplier of tissue paper, which is marketed under the Tork brand. Our end customers are found primarily in healthcare, public sector, commercial properties, offices, industry, hotels & restaurants, as well as facility service and cleaning.

About the role
As a Technical Packaging Specialist you will lead and drive sustainability certification process for packaging (e.g., Recyclability certifications) of our Tork assortment and secure accurate sustainability data for packaging in SAP system. The role will also create part of packaging specification in PLM (Product Life Cycle Management platform in SAP) and support Business Unit compliance regarding pack regulations.
You will report to the Product Management Director Assortment & Packaging and be situated within the Product Management team. The role does carry the need for periodic travel (10-20% per year).
What you will do
Coordinate with Essity sites, certification agencies, artwork agencies, vendors, product managers to facilitate and maintain packaging sustainability certifications.
Validate and safeguard correct sustainability data input in system and its maintenance (e.g.– pack material type, component weights, Recyclass status, PCR % etc).
Create and upload part of packaging specification into PLM.
Provide sustainability data inputs of packaging to customer marketing/tender requests.
Ensure packaging material data is in accordance with packaging regulations in Europe.
Monitor packaging materials (e.g., recyclability status).
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization to ensure good data quality.
Who you are
As a proactive and goal-oriented professional, you are able to independently manage your responsibilities with a structured and pragmatic approach. Your strong analytical skills are crucial, enabling you to interpret complex data and extract meaningful insights to identify issues and areas of improvement. Moreover, you effectively coordinate with a variety of stakeholders and have strong communication skills.
University degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or another relevant technical area.
3+ years of working experience with materials and basic understanding of packaging.
Working knowledge of PLM, SAP and MS Excel.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Working experience regarding sustainability matters is an advantage.
