We are now looking for a 

 

Dynamic Positioning (DP) Technical support & Operations Engineer

 

 to join our EU team, delivering solutions for Dynamic Positioning in the maritime Navy and Commercial segment. 

 

All ANCS locations in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Italy, The Netherlands or UK are possible locations.
 
What you will be doing 

 

The DP Technical Support & Operations Engineer will be joining a team of technical highly skilled colleagues yielding 2nd level support to customers and field service engineers and act as link between front-line and back-office Engineering teams located in US. This role requires a strong background in the maritime DP domain. 
  
As DP Technical Support & Operations Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Work collaboratively with field service engineers to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.  Write technical reports, Q&A’s and conduct studies as required. 
  • Perform engineering support activities in the office and in rare cases onboard vessels, including performance analysis and troubleshooting. 
  • In rare cases participate in commissioning of DP control systems, including calibration, control system tuning, Customer Acceptance Test and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).  
  • Maintain vessel control software following well defined software lifecycle process. 
  • Support development of algorithms and software for the marine industry including offshore and wind farm vessels, navy ships, cruise ships and mega yachts. 
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering and manufacturing disciplines during factory integration and test. 

  
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on Control Theory combined with strong programming skills or equivalent relevant background. 
  • Experience with Visual Studio and MATLAB for data analysis. 
  • Highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision. 
  • Must be well organized and have the ability to multi-task and keep track of simultaneous on-going projects and support cases. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and effectiveness. 

 
Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience with algorithm development, including estimation and control theory. 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in Windows environment. 
  • Experience with PLC and network interfaces.
